Waiting on MyselfX-tra Special Red Chair

Waiting on Myself

While traveling to discontent one day
I lost myself along the way
I stopped to see the birds and flowers
and became enthralled by fragrant showers
A weariness started to tingle my skin
and I lost myself when sleep set in
In beautiful dreams all evil I banished
but I awoke to find that I had vanished
What hardships doth my ego parry?
When I catch up what will it carry?
Seemingly endless search down life's highway
A fruitless jest until dawn's new day
Where oh where could I think to hide
Can I carry on with myself denied?
I would prefer a kinder act of fate
To carry over as a rock incarnate
Place me at a river bottom flowing free
There let the water wash as I wait for me

X-tra Special Red Chair

Here I go again
There I sit
All alone in the red chair
The words blaring in my ear
Everything is true
They're talking about me
Happy and sad all at the same time
Pointing that direction
Now where the hell am I going?
Heading back this way
Take a seat in the red chair
King of my own throne
I'm taking it to the middle of the world
Everybody can watch
Tired of late night one-on-one discussions to no one.
Candlelight gets out of hand
Glimmers to a flame and consumes my room,
but I'm not there.
I'm in the red chair in the middle of the world.
Everybody is watching and I love it.
