Flower Once Stood, TheFriend Named Death
Genuine Dogs

The Flower Once Stood

I planted a flower in a garden one day
then laid back and watched that flower grow.
While the flower was there I went happily on my way,
but how would I feel if that flower would go?

With care and love did I tend the flower,
and the flower grew strong and wild.
The flower glowed bright with unrestrained power,
and compared to it I was but a child.

The time has come the flower need not be groomed,
and now it is much harder to carry on.
Now when I pass the spot where my flower once bloomed
I stop and realize my flower is gone.

Friend Named Death

In the parlor gathering took
Brushing past without a look
Scriptures read from open book
And still you glide on by

Not the first time nor the last
Remember meetings in the past
But the meetings go too fast
And still your cold lingers on

Never time for them to see
Think it best for they would flee
Still a question ponders me
And you answer best you can

All the meetings laid aside
You skip me over in your stride
Only revealed to those who've died
And do you never have a friend

Selfish reasons that I show
Not wanting time to move too slow
Not fearing you when I go
And a silent prayer that Death
becomes my friend

Genuine Dogs

Death marches of artificial gods with no powers.
Steps are taken to resurrect their towers.
Fooled to make the climb and love the lie.
Reach the top; A cemetery; There you die.
Tremble in fear and so you should.
Up the stairs; Down to hell; They knew you would.
I've talked to gods with lack of power.
Avoid the death; Scream the word from their towers.

Be yourself. By yourself
Just leave me alone.
Please your mind. Please mankind.
Get a life or get gone.

Simple minds have simple hearts with no feelings.
Kill the masses with souls only gotten by stealing.
Leave the home too many times without locking the door.
You return; It's all gone; Life no more.
Stand in the middle of nothing; Hate to your heart's content.
Damn them all; gods of hell; Their cruel intent.
I've seen the gods, the thieves of all.
Stop the pillage; Write the word on the largest wall.

Be yourself. By yourself.
Just leave me alone.
Please your mind. Please mankind.
Get a life or get gone.

They kill by pain and take by deceit.
Seem proud to display hearts of those they defeat.
Half rotten heads hang around their necks.
Always death; Always stench; All the expect.
They please themselves the only way they can.
Change the rules; Stop the crimes; Switch the hand.
Take advantage of the things you know.
Stop the cold; Make the plans; Never show.
